About White Widow
White Widow is one of the most decorated strains in cannabis history, winning the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1995 just a year after its introduction by Dutch seed company Green House Seeds. The cross of a Brazilian sativa landrace with a South Indian indica landrace produced a plant of exceptional resin production — the thick white crystal coating that gives it its name is visible to the naked eye even in early flowering.
The aroma is complex and earthy: a mossy, woody base with notes of spice, pine, and a subtle floral undertone that becomes more pronounced as the cure deepens. Breaking the buds releases a sharper, incense-like quality reminiscent of hashish, reflecting the South Indian parentage.
The high is a study in balance. The sativa component delivers a sharp, focused cerebral onset that sharpens senses and can make music, art, and conversation feel heightened. This gives way over 30–45 minutes to a deepening physical relaxation that is comfortable but never overpowering. White Widow rarely causes the couch-lock that pure indicas produce, maintaining a pleasant equilibrium for 2–3 hours.
White Widow is one of the most beginner-friendly strains available. Plants are compact and bushy, rarely exceeding 100 cm indoors, with exceptional resistance to mould, cold snaps, and pest pressure. Yields are generous for the plant size, and the forgiving growth pattern makes her a reliable choice for first-time indoor growers.
